Starting January 26, the Flower Art Museum hosted the exhibition, “Trees in Focus. Different artists expressed the beauty and power of trees in different ways. The exhibition lasted until April 5, but due to corona, it was extended until September 2020.
Trees are not only the “lungs of the earth,” they also represent tranquility, timelessness and possess great aesthetic value. Trees symbolize strength and wisdom, as well as mystery, vulnerability and connection. Each season they offer a different, captivating sight. This makes trees not only a source of life, but also an endless source of inspiration for man’s imagination.
In the exhibition “Trees in Focus,” artists put the tree on a pedestal. From three-dimensional trees made of wire to impressive installations of felt and clay, and from atmospheric photography to a real tree to dream away in. Participating in this exhibition were Iris Hartman, Gerard Heijmen, Zsuzsanna Györgyövics, Jacqueline van Kester, Edward Otten, Anna J. van Stuijvenberg and Anne-Riet Vugts.
